Iowa Warrant Records Iowa Warrant Records

This notice describes visitor information that may be collected when using Iowa Warrant Records, how the service uses it, and when outside providers may receive it. Accessing or using the site means these practices apply to that visit.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Search widgets are run by outside providers. A name or date of birth entered into one of those tools is sent to that provider for processing and results. Iowa Warrant Records does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to the service may be retained so a response can be made. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, technical data about the visit may be recorded by the servers:

  • Page-view times and dates
  • The site that referred you, when one is present
  • The browser name and version
  • The pages opened and time spent on them
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The IP address assigned to the device

Cookies and Analytics

Small cookie files may be stored on a device so analytics can group activity, such as which pages get visits and where a session ends. Browser controls can block cookies. If they are disabled, some site functions may not work the same way.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and repairing technical problems
  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Measuring which information visitors use
  • Routing search-widget entries to the provider that operates the tool
  • Displaying advertising, which may use outside services

No Warrant Data on File

Iowa Warrant Records does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of warrants or person-level warrant records. It provides general information on Iowa Courts Online, the Iowa On-line Warrants and Articles System, Iowa District Court, and county sheriff channels. Iowa has no public statewide active-warrant search; IOWA access is restricted to authorized criminal-justice agencies. Iowa Code section 804.29 and Judicial Branch access rules can also restrict unserved arrest-warrant information. Information about site visitors is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside providers operate the search boxes on some pages. The provider's privacy notice governs anything entered there, including how long the company keeps it or whether it shares it. Those practices are outside our control, so review the provider's policy before using a tool.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Iowa court services, county sheriff pages, government information, legal resources, or commercial search providers. Once a link is opened, the destination's own privacy rules apply. Read those terms before sharing personal details there.

Advertising companies may use their own tools to measure activity across websites or select ads. Those systems are operated by the advertising provider, not by Iowa Warrant Records.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell visitor data. The following outside parties may receive information as part of the services described above:

  • Government or law-enforcement agencies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
  • Advertising networks that serve or measure ads
  • Analytics vendors that aggregate traffic information
  • Search partners that process entries made in their tools

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security steps are used to protect information handled by the service. Internet systems can still fail or be attacked, so no method can promise that a data incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, contact us so we can verify the report and promptly remove the information we hold about that child.

Your Data Rights

Rights over information held by a private service depend on applicable law. Iowa Code chapter 22, the Iowa Open Records Law, covers access to eligible government-held public records; it does not turn this private site into a government record custodian. You may still ask what visitor information we hold and request a correction, deletion, or opt-out where available:

  • Ask for access to information held by the service
  • Request a correction to data that is inaccurate
  • Ask for deletion of information, subject to any lawful retention need
  • Choose available controls for optional data processing

Updates to This Policy

This privacy policy may be revised as practices or requirements change. A revised copy and its effective date will appear here, so visitors can review the current terms.
