This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. Iowa Warrant Records is privately operated. It cannot confirm a warrant, recall or clear one, take bond, arrange a surrender, or provide legal advice. The issuing court and the county sheriff or other service agency must answer case-specific questions.
Need Official Iowa Warrant Information?
Use the office that holds the relevant case or service record. The right contact depends on what needs to be confirmed:
- Current warrant status: use the Iowa county directory to locate the Clerk of Court and sheriff tied to the case. A local public list may have limited coverage, so ask the responsible agency to confirm the live status.
- A missed court date: Iowa city ordinance and municipal-infraction cases are heard in Iowa District Court. Contact the Clerk in the county where the case was filed; there is no current standalone municipal or justice-of-the-peace court tier.
- Resolving a warrant: ask the issuing court or a licensed Iowa attorney about the case-specific route, which may involve an appearance, surrender, bond, or an individual motion. Iowa Code section 804.32 bars warrant-resolution clinics.
- Public docket information: Iowa Courts Online provides public portions of District Court case records, not a complete active-warrant index. The Iowa warrant lookup page explains the search limits and county confirmation steps.
- The law-enforcement network: DPS's IOWA System is for authorized criminal-justice users, not a public search counter. See the Iowa warrant system overview for its role and limits.
Iowa has 99 counties, and their public warrant channels are not uniform. A county directory link can help locate the right offices, but only the Clerk of Court and the sheriff or agency responsible for service can verify a particular Iowa warrant.
